Cookie Policy
Last Updated: April 19, 2026
This page explains what cookies our site uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store on your device. Some expire when you close the tab; others stay until you clear them. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, tracking pixels — do comparable things and are covered by this policy wherever we refer to "cookies."
How We Use Cookies
CryptoCodeFinder uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- Remember your region preference so you see content relevant to where you are.
- Keep our affiliate referrals working so partner operators can credit the sign-up to us.
- Understand which pages readers find useful, so we can improve them.
- Keep the site available and performant through our hosting and content-delivery infrastructure.
Types of Cookies We Use
We group cookies into four broad categories. Different categories carry different consent requirements depending on your region.
- Strictly necessary cookies make the site function — for example, routing you to the correct regional version. These cannot be disabled without breaking the site.
- Functional cookies remember preferences such as your chosen region or display settings.
- Analytics cookies help us understand which pages work and which do not. We treat these as non-essential.
- Advertising and affiliate cookies help partner operators credit sign-ups back to us so we are paid for referrals. We treat these as non-essential.
Specific Cookies We Use
The table below lists the cookies our site currently sets or relies on. It is updated when we add or remove services. If you spot a cookie in your browser that is not listed, please let us know and we will investigate and update the list.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| nf_ab | Netlify split-test / traffic allocation for deploys | Session | Netlify (hosting) | Strictly necessary |
| ccf_region | Remembers which regional edition of the site you last viewed (us, uk, ca, za). | 12 months | CryptoCodeFinder | Functional |
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 client identifier. Loaded via Google Tag Manager (container GTM-WGZ62PS8) and used to distinguish unique visitors. | 2 years | Google (via GTM) | Analytics |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 session-state cookie (per-property). Tracks session duration and engagement. | 2 years | Google (via GTM) | Analytics |
| _gid | Google Analytics cookie used to distinguish visitors day-to-day. | 24 hours | Google (via GTM) | Analytics |
| _gat_* | Google Analytics throttling cookie used to rate-limit requests to Google. | 1 minute | Google (via GTM) | Analytics |
| Partner referral cookies | Set by partner operators’ domains on outbound affiliate clicks so the partner can credit the referral back to us. These are set by the operator, not by us. | Varies by partner (typically 30–90 days) | Partner operators | Advertising / affiliate |
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties that help us deliver the site or measure how it is used:
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4: we load Google Tag Manager (container `GTM-WGZ62PS8`) which in turn loads Google Analytics 4. GA4 sets the `_ga`, `_ga_*`, `_gid` and `_gat_*` cookies listed above. Google uses this data to help us understand which pages, reviews and bonus codes get used. Google’s own privacy notice is at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Hosting / CDN (Netlify): may set transient cookies to route your request to the right server or deploy.
- Affiliate networks and partner operators: when you click an outbound "Visit" or "Sign up" button, the destination operator may set a cookie on their own domain so they can credit the sign-up back to us. We do not control those cookies; they are governed by the operator’s own cookie and privacy policies.
We do not currently embed third-party advertising SDKs or social-media pixels. If that changes, this section and the cookie table above will be updated before the new trackers begin operating.
Your Cookie Choices
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, which may include cookie-based advertising or analytics tracking.
Today our site does not sell personal information and does not participate in cross-context behavioral advertising. We do use Google Analytics 4 to understand how our pages are used, and affiliate cookies to track referrals on partner operator domains.
If your browser transmits a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale and sharing for California residents. You can also block Google Analytics specifically using the Google Analytics Opt-Out add-on, or use your browser controls in the next section.
Browser Controls
Every modern browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies. You can typically:
- See the cookies stored and delete them individually.
- Block third-party cookies by default.
- Block all cookies (note: this will break many websites, including this one).
- Delete all cookies automatically when you close the browser.
Browser-specific guides:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.
Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you choose to block or delete cookies, some site behaviour changes:
- Your region preference will not be remembered between visits.
- Affiliate referrals may not be credited — which will not cost you anything, but means we will not be paid for any operator sign-up you make from our site.
- Some interactive features may not work.
Cookie Duration
- Session cookies: deleted automatically when you close the browser.
- Persistent cookies: stay on your device until they expire or you clear them manually. Durations for specific cookies are listed in the table above.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our site or the underlying regulations change. When we do, we update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes — for example, introducing analytics or a consent banner — will be highlighted clearly.
